Sustainability in focus
The municipality of Amersfoort was looking for the most sustainable replacement of existing bicycle and pedestrian bridges. For Catharina van Rennespad the municipality chose our Delft UHPC Bridge System.
The Delft UHPC Bridge System
This bridge concept is modular and can be disassembled. The maintenance-free precast deck plates in CRC i3® ultra high performance concrete have an extremely long durability of more than 100 years and can be reused in the future, thanks to this design. Therefore it is an extremely sustainable investment for the future.
The Catharina van Rennespad consists of two bridges with different spans. A total of nine deck plates were used, which were placed on two steel beams. The red UHPC wear layer is integrated in the bridge deck and is part of the construction. This layer can be made in any desired colour.
