Ambitious renovation in Amsterdam to receive balconies and windows in UHPC

Historic district in need of renovation

The Deyssel neighborhood in Amsterdam is renowned for its beauty and rich history, making it a beloved area for the city’s residents. With buildings and streets dating back to the 1950s, the district now faces a necessary and extensive renovation to meet the needs of modern living, including the addition of more housing units.

The renovation will be carried out by Woningstichting Rochdale in collaboration with the Municipality of Amsterdam, with Dura Vermeer Renovatie Midden West serving as the main contractor. Hi-Con Nederland, in partnership with Pieters Bouwtechniek BV, will contribute to the project by supplying elements made from Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC).

The project will focus on preserving the neighborhood’s characteristic aesthetic while incorporating modern elements that enhance both functionality and durability. By using UHPC, the renovated buildings will not only honor the original architectural style but will also be prepared to meet the needs of the future.
