Duinroosstraat in Den Helder

We have started the engineering! Renovation of the Duinroosstraat in Den Helder, very nice upgrading of 90 apartments split up in 5 residential blocks. In the design of Kokon Architecture & Urban Planning, 5 almost identical apartment buildings are being renovated.

The facades will be renewed and the existing balconies on one side of each building will be removed and replaced by 90 brand new, larger UHPC balconies of 8.5 m2 by Hi-Con Netherlands. The UHPC balcony slabs are supported by two prefabricates concrete columns, balanced on a steel column in the corner. The new balconies will also be attached to the existing construction. The design of the balconies is characterized by the very slender point of the balconies, which is only 70 mm in thickness.
